Hello Vibes: A Playful Handwritten Font for Polished Branding

Designing a New Look for My Bakery’s Packaging

As a small bakery owner, I’m always looking for ways to make my brand feel more cohesive and inviting. Recently, I decided it was time to refresh our packaging—boxes, labels, and thank-you tags included. I wanted something that felt warm, friendly, and just a little whimsical, but still professional enough to earn trust at first glance. That’s when I discovered Hello Vibes, a quirky handwritten font that promised to bring personality without sacrificing polish.

At first glance, Hello Vibes caught my eye with its irregular, bouncy letterforms. It’s the kind of font that feels like it was written by hand—each character slightly different, full of life and charm. As a script font, it falls squarely in the “fun and friendly” category, but it still manages to feel intentional and designed, not sloppy or childish. I knew it would be perfect for our bakery’s new look.

How Hello Vibes Elevates Everyday Branding Materials

I started by testing Hello Vibes on our product labels. We use small stickers for our cookie boxes and cupcake sleeves, and readability is key—even at a small size. I was pleasantly surprised. While Hello Vibes isn’t ideal for long paragraphs, it works beautifully for short phrases like “Handmade with Love” or “Fresh Daily.” The font’s open spacing and clear letterforms helped maintain legibility, even on 12pt text.

Next, I used it on our thank-you tags—those little cards that go with every order. The font gave the message a personal touch, like the note was written just for that customer. I paired it with a clean sans serif font for secondary text, which helped balance the playful tone with a more structured look. The result? A more cohesive and professional feel across all our materials.

Perfect for Logos, Packaging, and Social Media Graphics

One of the best uses for Hello Vibes was in our new logo mockup. We’re updating our logo to reflect our bakery’s cheerful personality, and Hello Vibes brought just the right amount of whimsy. Because it’s a display font, it shines brightest in headlines and short phrases—ideal for logos, packaging titles, and Instagram story headers.

For our Instagram templates, I used Hello Vibes in the main headlines like “New Seasonal Flavors!” and “Limited Batch Today!” The font’s irregularity gave the graphics a handmade, approachable feel, which matched our brand voice perfectly. On mobile screens, it remained crisp and readable, especially when used at a larger size with good spacing.

When designing our new menu board, I chose Hello Vibes for the headers of each section—like “Pastries” or “Specials.” It helped break up the content in a visually appealing way, while the body text used a simple serif font for contrast and clarity. This kind of font pairing is key to creating visual hierarchy without overwhelming the reader.

Readability Tips and Font Pairing Ideas

While Hello Vibes is a fantastic choice for adding personality, it’s important to use it wisely. I found that it works best when used sparingly—either as a headline or accent text. For small labels or mobile thumbnails, I made sure to keep the point size large enough and avoid using it in all caps, which can make the letters feel crowded.

When pairing Hello Vibes with other fonts, I leaned into contrast. A modern sans serif like Montserrat or Lato worked well for secondary text, while a classic serif like Playfair Display elevated the design for more formal pieces like our thank-you cards. It’s also worth noting that Hello Vibes includes several alternate characters and ligatures, which allowed me to customize the look for different applications.

Checking the Fine Print: Licensing and File Formats

Before fully committing to Hello Vibes, I made sure to check the licensing. Since I use fonts across physical products, packaging, and digital marketing materials, it was important that the font allowed for commercial use. Fortunately, Hello Vibes came with a comprehensive license that covered everything from merchandise to client work.

The font also came in multiple formats—OTF, TTF, and WOFF—making it compatible with both design software and web platforms. Multilingual support was another bonus, especially since we occasionally cater to local events with bilingual signage.
